5 Reasons Spring is the Greatest Time to Visit Disney World

As I write this, I’m gearing up for my family’s next trip to Disney World.

Gah, we are so excited!

You’d think the excitement would wear off after visiting Disney World so many times, but not for us!

There is something extra special about going to Disney World in the Spring. In fact, it might be my favorite time of year to visit.

Here are the top 5 reasons why.

The Weather

It is GORGEOUS in Florida during the spring. Usually, you don’t need to worry about the days being over 90 degrees, which is a huge positive for me. I’m more of a 70s or 80s kind of gal. If you are too, springtime is a great time to go.

Also, the humidity typically hasn’t kicked into an unbearable level. It’s Florida, so of course it will be humid. But it doesn’t feel suffocating like it can in the summer or even fall.

It is warm enough for the kids to swim in the pool but not so hot that you are miserable walking around the parks. That’s perfect Disney weather, folks.

You do need to worry about rain. It is Florida, after all. But it’s rare that it rains constantly all day with no breaks. It’s usually a squall or two that blows through.

I love it when it rains at Disney, though. So many people leave the parks when it does. This former Oregonian can handle it! I’ll deal with a little rain if it means the crowds are down.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

If you are a regular reader or follow me on social media, you know my obsession with the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I LOVE it.

I mean, what’s not to love about this festival?

Epcot is full of gorgeous topiaries and garden displays made to look like your favorite Disney characters. They are throughout the entire park, so everywhere you turn there is a different display to check out.

I mean, look at all this gorgeousness. How could you not fall in love with this festival??

Of course, what Epcot festival would be complete without a variety of special food to try and live entertainment to enjoy.

There are special activities for kids as well. Things like a Garden Butterfly House, an Outdoor Kitchen and garden to explore, and two scavenger hunts. The scavenger hunts cost money, but you get a prize at the end for completing it. (Subject to change. Be sure to check the schedule the day you are there.)

I have a love affair with Epcot. It’s one of my favorite parks to visit, and this festival is a main reason why.

Great Deals

There are typically fantastic deals available to entice people to visit Disney World in the spring.

They change each year and are subject to availability. TIP: Book your Spring trip early and monitor for deals that you can apply later. That way, you don't run the risk of your top resort choice selling out.

Deal monitoring is part of my complimentary travel planning services. For more details, click here to set up your Magical Vacation Consultation.

We are Ready for a Break Come Spring

I don’t know about you, but my family is so ready for a vacation by the time spring rolls around.

Come March many of us have endured months of rain, and cold, and sometimes snow. After all that, we need a break, some vitamin D, and time in the sun by the pool.

Nothing better than an exciting, warm vacation to Disney World on your calendar to get you through those months of cold and rain.

School is Out, but Not at the Same Time

Spring Break is a busy time to go to Disney World for sure. Kids are out of school, what better way to spend the time!

The glorious thing is that schools are not out at the exact same time across the entire country. Unlike the week between Christmas and New Years', the crowds get spread out over several weeks.

That means while it will still be busy, it’s less likely to be as insanely busy as it is around Christmas time.

If you have to go when school is out, this may be your best bet. However, it's still better, crowd-wise, to go when school is in session.
